I’m a little bit (read: quite a bit) of a procrastinator. Wehad a wonderful B&B booked in Sudbury on Friday night. Those two things puttogether meant a hectic afternoon driving around Ottawa in rush hour traffic, topick up this, print that, buy something else, forget something requiring areturn home.
Inspired by artlebedev.ru’s endless expeditions in a carplastered in logos, I thought it would be a good idea to attract some (but nottoo much) attention. The stickers are surprisingly hard to attach without theannoying bubbles.
The debate whether the positives of this attention outweigh the negatives is continuing, more on that later.
Finally, we are all ready to go.
Twenty minutes outside of Ottawa, two guys in a Civic waveus to the side of the road. Apparently, they are driving from Montreal toVancouver. Road companions. We stop for coffee together, and later, in Sudbury,have a beer together in Laughing Buddha, before they head off into the night.They want to get to Winnipeg in 20 hours of non-stop driving – we aredefinitely taking it easier.
Somewhere near North Bay. We start talking about whether our stickers all over the car are attracting additional negative attention. So far the positives (meeting the cool dudes) outweigh the negatives (none).
Artisan Upstairs is a tiny B&B in the residential areaof Sudbury (Nina, thank you for the tip). It is a little pricey ($160 for atwo-room suite) for a B&B, but the hosts make up for it with warmth,stunning breakfast spread, true to the name, and a deck facing a gorgeoussun-lit backyard.
